Google Calendar Tips & Tricks for Mobile
Google Calendar on your phone is a useful tool, a few quick adjustments can make it even more convenient. Here’s how to optimize your mobile calendar experience:
1. Add a Google Calendar Widget to Your Home Screen
Get a quick view of your upcoming events without opening the app.
Android: Press and hold on your home screen > Select “Widgets” > Find Google Calendar > Drag the widget to your home screen.
iPhone: Press and hold on the home screen > Tap the “+” in the top-left corner > Search for "Google Calendar" > Select a widget size and add it.
2. Change Your Calendar View
Customize how you see your schedule to fit your needs.
Open the Google Calendar app.
Tap the Menu (☰) in the top-left corner.
Choose from Schedule, Day, 3-Day, Week, or Month views.
Bonus: On iPhone, you can enable the "Week Number" option under Settings for better tracking.
3. Enable Event Notifications & Reminders
Never miss an important meeting or appointment!
Open Google Calendar > Tap the ☰ Menu > Go to Settings.
Select a calendar > Tap Notifications to adjust event reminders.
Customize default notifications for events and all-day reminders.
4. Use/Layer Multiple Calendars
Manage work, personal, and shared calendars in one place.
Tap the ☰ Menu > Scroll to Settings > Select a calendar.
Toggle Sync on for the ones you want to appear.
