This is a guide to help you sign into all the digital newspapers and magazines that the du Pont Library provides! They are each a little different, but once you’ve done them, you should be good to go for the long run. Bookmark each one for ease of access later.
DO follow all of the directions that these sites email to you. The biggest error people make is that they just click links without reading directions and expect the service to work. Don’t let that be you!
The Economist:
Register first by going to:
https://myaccount.economist.com/s/login/SelfRegister using your school email address.
Next, you will get an email stating “You’ve been given an Economist subscription” where you will verify your email.
Go to economist.com and enjoy your full access
New York Times:
Go to the link below and login with your full school email address. You'll then get an email to finish the setup from there. Once you've done that, you'll have access all the time from your bookmarked page. FYI- If you try to go in via Facebook or another third party site, that won’t work.
Here's the link: https://nytimes.com/passes
Wall Street Journal:
Go to https://www.wsj.com and sign in (obviously not to be shared outside of our institution):
username: library@pomfret.org
password: br)adStr33t
Washington Post:
On the campus network, you have access to all articles when on the website. Ignore all prompts to log in or sign up (they are annoying, sorry), and just enjoy the articles.
If off campus, you’ll want to use our proxy by logging onto the website with this link: https://www-washingtonpost-com.ezproxy.pomfret.org/
If off campus and a strange notification asks you “Did you mean washingtonpost.com” you can click “IGNORE” to continue through to the site.
Sora: Digital Magazines (160 of them!), Audio and EBooks
Download the Sora App or use your computer and go to https://soraapp.com
Find “Pomfret School” when prompted and enter your school email address and password.
Enjoy the content!
